    Heat seeking/follicle development help

I have a female albino ball who has been bred more times than I can count since the beginning of November. In early/mid January she started cool seeking/bowl wrapping/laying inverted. This lasted about 4 weeks. On February 12 she started soaking. She went into shed and continued to soak off and on for the duration of this shed. I assumed it was her pre ovy shed. She shed yesterday afternoon and since then has been on the warm end and hasn't left. (Not a perfect coil) I know she hasn't ovulated yet because I can still feel the follicles. (Between half dollar and golf ball). Has anyone else experienced a female staying on the warm end just prior to ovulation? Does this mean she will re absorb them? Due to her being Albino it's really hard for me to be able to tell if she is glowing or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

It doesn't necessarily mean she will reabsorb at this stage. I think it's a normal progression in the scheme of things. I think a ovulation will be forthcoming based on your info of the point she is at. If she is also refusing meals is more indicative of a impending ovulation. Because meal refusals happen around the end of the cool seeking period and through the heat seeking period and beyond. So, for the most part the follicles are mature and she seems to be on schedule. Good luck, nice job. What was she paired with?.

    Re: Heat seeking/follicle development help

She just started refusing food as she went into shed. Tried feeding yesterday right after she shed but turned the other way lol. Otherwise she was eating very aggressively, her weekly rat plus any left overs. She has gone from 1600 grams at the beginning of November to 2300 grams just a few days ago. This will hopefully be my first clutch. She was bred to a pastel and a firefly. I've worked really hard to get to this point and despite reading everything and re-reading it for the 50th time there are still a lot of gray areas. Just want to make sure I get it right lol

Nice! Congrats. Just continue to keep up your husbandry and hopefully she will give you a healthy first time clutch. Sounds like she is at a healthy weight for that.

Actually, if she just started laying and staying on the heat I would look for it real soon. You may want to check on a daily basis but take care to not pick her up or stress her at all.
