    Question-urgent

The last two times my Ball Python has eaten, several days later he has had very loose poops (at least thats what I am guessing they are?) that have been dark brown. He ate two live fuzzies on 7/12...last night I held him for about 15 minutes, but he was really wiggly, and I was trying to watch a movie so I put him back up. Today I notice this big pile of dark brown (could it have been regurge...what does that even look like,I have never had a snake do it?) in his cage...and his head area was near it...its also smeared on the side of the cage. Should I be worried? Please reply ASAP...I am freaking out. I have had snakes since I was very young...but he is my first Python, I have always kept Colubrids, and never had any problems like this...please help.

    Re: Question-urgent

I am definitely not an expert, but I wouldn't think they would be likely to regurge three days after eating. Did it still look like what he ate, or different, like it had been processed (digested)? Maybe he has some form of diarhea? If it has been happening for the last two feed cycles, I would think an appoitment with your vet would be called for. Save the dark brown stuff in a small ziploc, with as much air out of it as you can manage, and take it with you to give the vet so they can see if he has any internal parasites. It wouldn't hurt to PM a couple of the really experienced guys; Adam Wysocki, RobertCoombs; to see what they say.

You should up the size of the mouse to a fully grown one now i think. How big is your snake and how much does it weigh.

Juliya, I would suggest taking a sample of the feces and bringing it to a vet for analysis to check for internal parasites.

I agree. If you haven't already cleaned up. Put some into a ziplock, and refrigerate it until you can take it to the vet's office. It's possible your dealing with internal parasites. In either case, relax and take a deep breath. You and your baby will be fine.

    Re: Question-urgent

Its not my fault he will only eat f/t sometimes (he has only refused it twice)...it came down to live or nothing. And a fuzzy would not cause NEAR the damage a rat or mouse would. So back off, and don't pick fights with me.

I cleaned it up the second I saw it in there...I don't like dirty cages.
