    Thermostat probe question.

Hi! My uth is already installed underneath my tank, and i received my on/off thermostat today...now I read everywhere that I needed to installed the probe before sticking my uth, so my question is where should I put the probe now? Under the uth or inside the tank on the glass? Help is appreciated!

    Re: Thermostat probe question.

You want the probe between the UTH and the glass. Try to very carefully peel the pad back without bending it so you can place the probe correctly. If you put the thermostat probe inside the cage then the snake can pee on it or move it and then it will get an inaccurate reading and cause the pad to be too hot.

    Re: Thermostat probe question.

So it's not a good idea to put it on the bottom of the uth? So it would be tank/uth/probe and adjust the temp so it reads 90f inside the tank on top of the glass?

You can but you will have to temp gun the glass and adjust your thermostat till you get temp gun readings where you want them.
You have to do this anyway but there will probably bee a bigger difference between the two readings.
