Overhead lighting Q
This morning, when I got up, I noticed my young female soaking in her new water dish, which is something she never did until I got her the new dish, and I flipped on the overhead enclosure light like I always do, and I swear she gave me the dirtiest flippin' look and slithered into her hide as though me turning on that light was the biggest disruption to her luxurious spa treatment or something. This isn't the first time she has reacted this way to lights. I have also had her poke her head out and come out of her hide within seconds of turning off the overhead lighting in the evening. She is like a vampire that can't stand the sun.
Do I need to change up or ditch the overhead lighting?

BP's are nocturnal by nature, so white light tends to aggravate them. They prefer dark, tight spaces so naturally bright light would signify day time to her and time to hide.

So is it something that I should change or get rid of or is it just natural and normal reaction / good for her?

no real need in my book for overhead lighting, my snakes certainly don't have any, they get some ambient light from outside but nothing extra. heat and humidity is all a bp needs to be correct lol.
