Please help ball python sick, culture came back clean

My ball python has a lot of salvia in her mouth and had bubbles coming out of her nose my vet gave me ceftazimine injections while waiting on culture, it's been 10 days and the culture came back clean I don't know what to do, her ambient temps are 82 on both sides from a heat lamp and a 90 degree F. Heat pad on hot side she is in a plastic tub with humidity going from around 60 to 75, I get it to 75% and thoughout the day it drops to around 60% before I spray it again also she is on paper towels now, I bleach the tub and hides daily

Bleaching everything daily seems like over kill and just added stress from taking the snake out, cleaning, drying, ect. Did the vet have no further suggestions? Are the bubbles still happening?

Re: Please help ball python sick, culture came back clean

Just to bleach tub daily and change out paper towels daily, I took a male ball python I bought on Facebook that was sick to another vet and they said he had pseudomonos but after 3 injections seemed to be better they told me he was no longer sick so I put him with my female and a week later he died and she had bubbles in her nose

Sounds like the diagnoses wasn't great the first time since he died anyway. Is this pure bleach or a very weak solution? If there is still saliva and fluid the animals still has a respiratory infection and a super clean cage isn't going to be enough particularly since the first animal died. Honestly I would try to find a third vet that is more willing to try more than just one kind of injection and tell that vet the whole story.

Also this is way too little too late, and I'm sure you've figured this out but I have to say: always quarantine even a healthy looking animal at least 3 months next time.

Might be worth it to find another vet while doing the treatment.

Also bleaching daily seems overkill to me as well.

What substrate did you have the snake on before? Maybe it's allergic to it?

Like I said, I would keep on the injections and in the mean time see if it gets better and search around your local herp club for who they recommend. Then after the injections are done, see if its better. If it is, I would then switch bedding to something other than what you were using.

She has only had signs of a RI for about 2 weeks is it to late to fix her, and should I have another culture done or blood work or fecal exam what would yield the best results

Well if she was fine on the substrate since Feb, then that's probably not it. I would check your local herp club and ask them who they recommend as the snake bet. Then take him in and tell the vet whats going on and get another culture done. For RI, I wouldn't think you need a fecal or blood work done. Although you could if you want. I had blood work done as well as a culture on my beardie when she had an RI. The vet said just need the culture but I wanted the blood work done just for my own piece of mind.

2 weeks is a long time to have an RI. If it truly is, it will have a firm grip on your snake over such a time. You need to get to a better vet fast. It will take more than three injections to bring a snake back from RI. Stuck a snake should have never been in the same tank as another.

    Where are you?

    Pics of the setup?

    Thermostat used?

Type of thermometer and humidity gauge used?
