Looking into a Burm
Well I have always liked large snakes and have been working with one for about 2 months now helping out a friends wife while he is in Iraq. His burm in 12' give or take a few inchs its 8 years old I believe and a male. Now 12' isnt to much for me to handle but 18-20 is now I know males stay smaller and if I get one it will be a pre sexxed male. what I want to know from people who KEEP them like kara, not people who know a friend of a friend that had a......
what is the avg adult size for a male.

Re: Looking into a Burm
Well, I don't KEEP them, but I work with them every day at work.
Average male size is 10-15'. Awesome snakes with awesome temperaments. The one we have at work I named 'Noodle'. He's an albino and he acts just like a big cooked speghetti noodle.

Re: Looking into a Burm
Most suris do not get to 12'. 9' is more average even for a female.

yeah avg is like 6' for a male and 8-9 for a female but the potential to hit 12' is there.

Re: Looking into a Burm
yeah the potential is there, just like the potential of a ball python reaching 6 feet is there
But Its very uncommon for a suri to reach 12'

Re: Looking into a Burm
Peruvian boas are known to be larger than the suris. They don't have the wicked patterns and color of the suris though.
