    Shedding Question

On October 3rd, my girl got the milky eyes that show up prior to shedding. She didn't come out of her hide for 5 days. She is my first ball, and this is my first shed experience, so I don't know much, but don't snakes usually move around to get their skin off? Today (October 9), she was out of her hide and active, and her hide was crooked, so I reached in to straighten it up, and there it was, her perfectly intact skin, right under her hide. Is the amount of time she took to shed and her method normal?

    Re: Shedding Question

One more question. The person I "took" her from (they were going to release her in their back yard), had her on year old, unwashed/unchanged bedding, so she was starting to get very mild scale rot, but after the shed, it looks muuuuch better (pretty much nonexistent). Should I do much more for the scale rot other than my exemplary upkeep of her environment?

    Re: Shedding Question

Shedding time can vary but is normal, so is method. I would just keep an eye on the scale rot, keep her cage clean and if it gets worse take further action.

It's normal! I find sheds bunched up inside the hide at least 80% of the time. As long as she's shedding in one piece, doesn't matter how it comes off.

Thank you both. She is so soft after her shed, it's awesome! Her iridescence is also insanely awesome after her shed, it's like she's glowing. Snakes are great!
