    Ambient heat help?

    Hi all,
We got a proper thermometer today (the ones we had just weren't performing) and it reckons the ambient temperature in the tank is too low. It is at 23 degrees C. We have a heat mat set to 35 degrees C, and Wanda seems to be spending most of her time in her hot hide. How do we heat up the ambient heat? Should we get a heat lamp?

    Thank you!

While the temperture on the cool side it too cold the one on the hot side is too hot and shout be lowered to 33.

As far as cool side it depends on the ambient temp of the room where your BP is kept.

    Your options are

Heating the room (not worth it for one animal)

Having a lamp on the cool side (will dry up your wnclosure)

Having a second UTH and a second T-Stat during the winter.

    Thank you very much!
We're thinking we might go with a lamp... Would you suggest a kind? I don't know much but I'm guessing a big one would make it too hot, so we'd need a smaller one. Do you need a thermostat for a lamp?
