I'm a bit worried...

So not to long ago, last week, I got a another ball python, this big 2,700g girl. She's a bumble bee morph and is very docile when handled.

Her name is Delilah.

She's 5 years of age and has been in a tub all her life up until now, I have her in a 40gal tank and she seems to enjoy it. Nothing wrong with it, I know everyone has their own preference on housing ball pythons.

So on to what I'm worried about...

I have a cat who's too curious for her own good.

Her name is Monroe.

Monroe likes to go by Delilah's tank because it's on the very bottom of my rack, she will rub herself against the glass or just sit there and stare. So with this, Delilah will watch Monroe back, she'll follow her every movement and occasionally will pull her head back as if she wants to strike.

On the very first day I got Delilah she seen Monroe and was very fixated on her. I just thought you know, she never seen a cat and was just as curious as the cat was.

The whole point of this, is should I be worried about the whole situation and what should I do? I don't want none of them to get hurt.

Any advice?

How can one of them get hurt if you keep them separated? If you need to do anything with the snake, keep the cat out of the room. Simples.

I do in fact do that, but what I worry about is the snake striking from the tank and hitting the glass, she seems to always go into her strike position every time the cat comes around like she's going to go for it. That's when I usually kick the cat out so she doesn't stress the snake out. But I mean I should of elaborated more on that, it's just always something I think about in the back of my mind when I'm not around. Thanks

Nah I wouldn't worry about that. My snake has struck at the glass of his viv, the shield around the ceramic heater, me haha! The snake hasn't actually struck yet so no need to worry about something that hasn't even occurred yet! Hakuna matata!

As long as the cat is not in direct contact with the snake and the snake is not striking i wouldnt worry

how many BP's or reptiles do u have? your new BP is right next to your reptile rack with your other animals? u might be endangering more than your cat if that's the case. QT all new snakes/reptiles.
