Yeah JCP seems pretty cool. I just picked up a little female one from Inland Reptiles and she is a hoot. So active and feisty with her moments of serenity lol. Was a toss up between that or a really clean looking jungle BI but since I didn't have a JCP yet, I opted for that. So far no regrets at all.

    Re: Another first-time carpet owner

Jungles started my carpet obsession. It doesn't get much better than a nice clean black and yellow jungle. I've since learned that the Morelia waters run deep. Coastals, Bredli, Axanthics, Albinos, Zebras, Jags and Inlands are all amazing animals. Not to mention some of the unreal morphs that are out there.

Two months in, and Akurra is already growing like a weed. He's gone from 64g to 101g and 25" to 30"

Adopted Gio's "acclimatization branch", and it seems to be working well. Before, he would generally just stay put on my hand or try constricting my fingers. He still love his "Ima eat your face!" poses though

    Insert obligatory pictures ...

    Re: Another first-time carpet owner

Still puffs up and once in a while makes hissy/wheezy noises at me. Almost no head-buts anymore, and he's only tried to bite me once, early on.

That said, I'm still convinced that (one day) he'll be the first of my snakes to actually draw blood

    Re: Another first-time carpet owner

My JCP often makes whistling/wheezing noises when he's out and about, even when he seems to be happily exploring, not feeling aggressive or defensive. The first time he did it in my ear *was* kinda disconcerting, though.
