    I'm All In

ok, i decided that imma go try for a Panda. i know the issues and have accepted the risks. so i'm all in.

from my Fav Black Pastel Morphs thread:

    where is the snake?

    right there

    but guess what?

    they're everywhere! lol

    nice pair

    nice tails

    another pair

    lil worms

0.1 Black Pastel Yellowbelly and 0.1 Black Fire, both 66% het Pied; also both are sibilings from same clutch. their father also sired 2 other clutches that had a Panda in one and 2 Black Pastel Pieds and a chimera Black Fire Pied in another.

1.1 0.1 Black Pastel 66% het Pied and 66% het Albino

Black Pastel Yellowbelly is named West or "W" trying to show off her orange lined belly but the lighting was terrible. she has really cool cool oranges throughout.

Black Fire is named East or just "E"

her name is South or simply "S"

    i named him Vinkus

    thanks for looking.

Good luck! There is a chance I've got one in the incubator now if she retained any sperm from last year. Wouldn't that be a shock. Heehee

Um... A black pastel pied is not a Panda pied... That would be a super cinnamon pied. I've seen several black pastel pieds on Morphmarket and their color isn't really that black, and it all gets pushed to the head in most cases, similar to a spider pied. You'll still make some cool snakes though!

lol i know what a Panda is. traditionally a Panda is considered a Super Black Pastel Pied; a Super Cinnamon Pied is acceptable as well. i've participated in many or started my own threads on the topics of Black Pastels, Cinnamons, their Super and ALS forms. i also have a 500gram SBP 66% het Pied and a few other visual single gene Pieds and combo's and hets i can work with. i used to list all my BP's in my sig but just took it down recently b/c it was getting too long.

Super black pastel pieds are also called pandas.

Good luck on your quest OP!

It's the opposite actually. The original Panda Pied was a super black pastel pied. Some argue that the super cinnamon pied isn't a Panda. I produced a few super cinnamon pieds and they were a disaster and mostly white. None hatched. I never went for super cinnamon anything after that.

It sounds like an interesting project! So to start from scratch you would have to breed black pastels to pieds to get hets, then breed the hets to get black pastel pieds, then breed those to get panda pieds, then breed those together to produce all panda pied clutches. So for a female to get old enough to breed I think that takes three years? So it would be a 12 year project starting from scratch?
