Anyone buy live rats for future feedings?

The place i get rats from is fairly far from me, does anyone buy a few weeks worth of live rats and take care of them until next feeding days? How should they be kept? Thanks

Depending on what you need (size wise) they might not be kept alive without their mother, if they are already weaned you can.

Keep in mind that rats grow very fast and sometimes in just a week they might get too big by the next feeding.

You need a cage or tub with the lid, no grove in the tub and hardware cloth to replace part of the lid for airflow, food (dog food no higher than 18% protein will do or rat food not the one sold in pet store but the one sold for feeders such as mazuri or harlan) and water.
