    Frustrating....

So I have one brand new snake, pastel clown female, that was eating live and I tried to convert to frozen/thawed but refused two feedings since I got her.

Then I have a albino male that WAS eating frozen thawed but then just stopped. Missed 4 feedings....

So I needed them to eat. Especially my pastel clown as she is only 100 grams. So today I bought 3 live mice.....BOOM!!! Female ate 2 back to back and male ate 1. FRUSTRATING! I figure for the female I will feed her a few more love then try frozen/thawed. But my male....what gives? You were JUST eating fine frozen/thawed and stopped.

That has happened to me countless times over the years. I always keep up with trying f/t again because one day *boom* they are back on it. Ball pythons are a fickle bunch.

    Thanks for the feedback!

    I hope they both convert.

My male is also on a kick right now where he is *refusing* rats (frozen or live) he will only take live mice all of a sudden...he's over 1000 grams, so...that's a lot of mice. Sigh.

You can almost see the look of disgust in his eyes.... "This is not what I ordered. Take it back to the kitchen and get it RIGHT!"

The other day I had an 'only live' eater strike at a mouse and miss. Usually once that happens the mice figures out what is going on and most of the times ends up biting the snake, so I always do a fresh kill with that mouse. Well my 'only live' eater actually ate that fresh killed after his missed strike! Maybe you can have a pet mouse and put him on the other side of the glass to temp him and get him interested, maybe far enough not to strike but close enough to see, then try to trick him with a frozen thawed HA!
