    Soundtrack of your life...

I posted this topic on our boards a week or so ago & it was a big hit, hence the repeat here....

If you had to pick 10 songs (+/-) that would appear on the "soundtrack of your life" what would they be? You can include "why" if you feel like doing so...another "just for funner."

*Keep in mind that these aren't necessarily "favorite" songs - just those that have enough significance to be included on your own personal soundtrack.*

Mine are (numbered, but actually in no particular order...):

    1. Summer of '69 - Bryan Adams
    2. My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys - Willie Nelson
    3. Least Complicated - Indigo Girls
    4. Romeo & Juliet - Dire Straits
    5. Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman - Bryan Adams
    6. Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison
    7. True Companion - Marc Cohn
    8. American Pie - Don McLean
    9. Thunder Road - Bruce Springsteen
    10. Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town - Pearl Jam
    11. Book of Days -Enya
    12. the entire Little Earthquakes CD - Tori Amos

    Yep!

    Re: Soundtrack of your life...

    In no order:

    1) Melissa Etheridge - All American Girl
    2) Placebo - English Summer Rain
    3) Garbage - Fix Me Now
    4) Nine Inch Nails - All the Love in the World
    5) U2 - Acrobat
    6) Tom Petty - Wildflowers
    7) Timbuk3 - The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades
    8) Garbage - Cup of Coffee
    9) Queen - The Show Must Go On
    10) Jethro Tull - Songs From the Wood
    11) Dobie Gray - Drift Away

There might be some better selections to that list, but that's what I can think of for now... I did not pick the first song, my friends did a long time ago when we were thinking of one theme song for life right now. At the moment I'l having a harder time picking happier songs..doesn't help that I feel like complete garbage at the moment (physically)

There are two songs I absolutely love and cater to my warped sense of humor. Anyone actually ever heard of them? The Aadvark Song and The Drinking Man's Diet both by Allen Sherman.

    Re: Soundtrack of your life...

Hmm ... good question, Kara. I'm sure if I answered on a different day, my answers would change a bit, but here's today's version:

    1) Puff the Magic Dragon - Peter, Paul, and Mary
    2) Yellow Submarine - Beatles
    3) Desperado - Eagles
    4) You Shook Me All Night Long - AC/DC
    5) My Generation - The Who
    6) Hair of the Dog - Nazareth
    7) Circle Game - Joni Mitchell
    8) Tequila Sheila - Bobby Bare (Shel Silverstein)
    9) The Weakness In Me - Joan Armatrading
    10) Get Out the Map - Indigo Girls

It's interesting to see y'all's songs. There are a bunch of them that I like or that have meaning for me too. I think my real soundtrack would have to have at least 20 songs, though.

    Re: Soundtrack of your life...

Wow, I can't believe it took me this long to notice this thread. I love music with a passion; there are times in my life it was all I could count on. Here is my soundtrack, though it is hard to pick just 10. In no particular order.

Nine inch Nails- A Warm Place
Type o Negative- Too Late; Frozen
    Anthrax- Black Lodge
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds- Do you love me? (maybe my favorite song..)
Warrant- Bitter Pill (don't knock Warrant; this is an awesome song.)
    Mr Bungle- Pink cigarette
    Depeche Mode- In your Room
    The Beatles- Hey Jude
Walk Don't Run (not sure who it's by, instrumental guitar)
Girl you'll be a Woman Soon (the remake from Pulp Fiction)

Bonus Track: Poison- Fallen Angel (had to add that!)
-Jen. Back in the hobby after a hiatus!
    Ball pythons:
    0.1 normal; 1.1 albino. 1.0 pied; 0.1 het pied; 1.0 banana.

LOL...don't worry - this isn't mean to be all-inclusive, just to share some of the must-haves. My actual soundtrack is up around 500 songs at the moment.

    Re: Soundtrack of your life...

Bungle/Patton and Pink Cigarette - excellent - happy to see that!

Walk Don't Run is the Ventures I am pretty sure.

This would be a difficult list for me to compile though.

Place Where the Black Stars Hang - Lustmord - all sprawling 50+ minutes of it.
    Hey Joe - Jimi Hendrix
Demon of the Fall - OPETH - hell ANYTHING Opeth at all is uber
Tongue of Flame - Transglobal Underground/Natacha Atlas
The Illusion of Motion - YOB (wish I could go see them Sunday)

(30 minutes later I realize I can distill it no further - there are too many great songs)
