    Question eating but not defacating...

I have had my BP for 1.5 months and she has only had one poop! Is this normal? She eats a mouse a week. My corn snake ate a mouse then she would defacate with in a few days. Maybe BP metabolism is just that much slower, I don't know. Please let me know if this is normal.

The bottom line is... relax. He'll poop when he needs to.

If you're seriously worried about impaction, give him a soak in some warm water and see if that gets things moving. Otherwise, don't worry too much. Sometimes my guy poops 4 days after a meal, sometimes he'll have 6-7 rats in him before he'll go. Just gotta let things move when they're ready.

All of my guys usually wait until they reach the absolute fullness to finally pass a log. Don't worry about impactation, its pretty easy to tell when they are, not to mention I doubt they would want to eat if they were impacted anyway.

Colubrids have substancially more frequent bowel movements than boids do. Just one of the reasons why I like boids better - less frequent cleanups are needed.
