Step 1: find a container with a lid that the snake can fit comfortably in. Drill holes in the lid and remove jagged edges.

Step 2: fill it with spagnum moss (if you have it or can get it) and warm water.

Step 3: insert snake and put the lid on. As condensation builds, your snake should rub their face on the sides and after some time should work the caps off on their own without injuring themselves.

This method has been a life saver with some of my pick ups and rescues!
Agreed! Though I'm not as fancy with the spagnum moss. Wet paper towels will do in a pinch.

The second shed of my black pastel turned out to be bad one. I tried everything to get the excess shed off including qtips, warm wet towels, and soaking her in warm water. Eventually everything came off but it took a week of work which prompted me to buy a humidifier immediately.

A few months later it happened again but this time around her head. A friend recommended putting her in a large tupaware container with some wet paper towels and let her work it off herself. I did this and also put the container on top of small heating pad. I was expecting it would take hours to get everything off but after only 20 minutes she was completely free of all excess skin and had never looked prettier. Highly recommend this approach!

Wet paper towels are brilliant! And much more economical
