Tell me Whyyyyyy!!!!

Ok so i bred my female bumblebee to my firebee male and also had a couple o locks with a lesser pastel.
She went through ovulation and yesterday she was laying when i went to work. When i came back i checked if she was done and she was but when i removed her from the eggs all i found was 6 slugs and one good lookinh big egg but with no veins in it... 😭😭

Now tell me what i did wrong!!

Could be anything from infertile males/female to improper temps. Maybe you introduced males too late in the cycle. Maybe she didn't have the reserves. Do you have a picture of the eggs? The good looking one may still be good. Veins can start out too small to see and become more apparent after a week or two. I never give up on possibles, only feed definite slugs off to other animals.

Oh no That stinks I'm afraid it probably wasn't anything you did. Sometimes they just lay slugs. I don't know what's worse, your scenario, or mine earlier this year. I had 6 eggs make it to the end, 2 super cinnys included, and they almost all died as soon as they came out of the eggs, even the super cinnys

hi Chris, like others have said, you did nothing wrong. I've had a couple clutches completely slug out too, it happens. By chance was the first clutch for your female? Often that's the case. Next season, I'm certain she'll deliver. Sorry again,

Female slugging out or partially slugging out are not always human error (it can be) but not always.

Not all females breed, not all females ovulate, not all females lay viable clutched, not all eggs hatch.

I have had females slugging out or partially slugging out lay 9, 11 healthy eggs the following season, just like I have had a female never laying healthy eggs.

All you can do is try again.

Yes it was her first clutch it might be the case
