    Recent pics of my new Boa "Owen"

    Just wanted to share some new pics of my boy - he is soooo precious.







    He is 9 months old and about 29 inches long at 187 grams. Is he on track?? He is currently in half of a T8 but I would love to move him into the whole T8 - just wasn't sure if that would be okay.

    Really nice addition well done enjoy. He'll be even more awesome when he grows up just gotta love coral albinos. Mines just a regular albino but i still think he's great. I think he's a bcc so it'll be interesting to see how big he gets.

    What a perfect little guy! He looks nice and healthy A full T8 shouldn't be a problem for him. Boas aren't agoraphobic like BPs and some other species.

    Yikes - he better not a BCC - I was told he is a BCI. I coudn't handle the large size that the BCC's get to.

    The reason I want to move him into the whole cage is because I don't feel like with just using the half cage that there is enough room for a good temp gradient. I have an 40 watt RHP in there and it takes up at least 2/3rds of the cage width. If I move him to the entire cage I will switch to an 80 watt RHP and should be good to go.

    No no i was referring to my albino boa. Don't worry yours is very much a bci.

    Fortunately I do have experience with PVC cages and RHP's so I know that the 80W RHP is perfect when using the entire cage.

    My only concern was if the snake would be okay in a 4ft x 2ft cage this young.

    Congrats on your good looking boy!

    My Boa experience agrees with Eavlynn, they are more secure in their surroundings than a BP. My 2 won't even use hides. But I would still offer them, especially for a youngster. And with going to a bigger setup, there's plenty of room for the hides as well.
    The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.
