Confused bout hets
I'm really confused on this whole het thing. Not the definition of it. I keep seeing 50% het (morph). What's the difference between 50% het and 100% het? For example, if someone would to breed a 50% yellow belly het pied to a piebald, would there be a difference when someone else breeds the same paring BUT the YB is 100%?

100% het. means that the animal is absolutely het. for the trait described. A 100% het. Pied means that one of the parents was visual Pied, so their offspring is guaranteed to be het.
50% het. means that one of the parents was het. for the trait. That means that there is a 50% chance that the offspring is, as well - but there's also a 50% chance that it is NOT het. for the trait.
So if you have a Yellow Belly 50% het. for pied, you have a Yellow Belly. It may, or may not, be het. for Pied - there's no way to know without breeding it to a Pied or a het. Pied, and hoping for Pied offspring, to prove whether it is or not. There's a 50% chance that you have a Yellow Belly het. Pied, and a 50% chance that you have a Yellow Belly NOT het. Pied.
However, proving out, to my understanding, can be tricky - because even if it IS het. Pied, and your luck is bad, you may still not get any Pied offspring from a breeding. I think the only guarantee of getting Pied offspring is to breed two visual Pieds together.

Let's take the Pied gene as an example
Pied X Normal = 100% Het All offsprings are normal looking and all carry the pied gene.
If you pair a 100% Het Pied to 100% Het Pied you will have 25% chance to produce a Pied (chances per egg) , you will also produce het pied and normal, however since you cannot tell apart the normal from the hets they are all considered 66% possible hets.
If you pair a 100% Het to a normal, you will produce normal and hets however this time since again you cannot tell them apart they will be considered 50% possible hets.
Hope that was simple enough.
With your example if you breed a YB 100% Het Pied to a Pied you will hatch YB Pied, Pied, YB Het Pied, Het Pied.
If you breed a YB 50% Het Pied the results might be the same as above IF and only if your YB proves out to be Het Pied. depending on the odds it might take few season to prove a possible het out.
I just hatched this clutch from Leopard CG 100% Het Hypo Possible Het Pied, obviously in this case the male proved and is indeed Het Pied

Good luck! I've been keeping an eye out for a YB het. Pied as well, or YB Pied, and haven't seen much at all. The visuals are also called Pumpkin Pieds, to my understanding. Someday, I want an Ivory Pied...
