    10 days?

I have a 2011 female CA king, 732 grams. She's been taking 2 rat pups (20-30 grams each) every 7 days. If I were to switch to a 10 day schedule, would 1 small rat (50-89 grams) be acceptable and keep her happy and healthy? I ask because I'm almost out of pups and need to place a rodent order, so I figured now would be the best time to make any changes.

    Bonus: Pictures!

A small rat every 7-10 days would be fine for your king. That's about how often I fed mine too. I feed my kings either 2 jumbo mice or a jumbo mouse and a chick every 10 days or so. Your girl looks great BTW.

Perfect! Thank you! I was actually going to ask if anyone had tried feeding their king chicks. I noticed them on the rodent site I order from and was curious. Do they do well on them? I thought it might be a nice treat every once in a while.

@ Callie- My kings LOVE chicks. They eat them pretty regularly. If you feed chicks by themselves the snakes have runny poo but I don't have that problem when I give them chicks with a mouse. My kings turn their noses up at rats though.

I added chicks to my order, so we'll see how it goes. I'm pretty sure she'd eat just about anything she could get her mouth around. Her and my dumeril's boa are complete garbage disposals.
