    How do I set up heat tape?

    I am about to create a snake rack and I just want to be sure how to place the heat tape? Thanks!!!

    Back heat, belly heat, one piece or piece per shelf??

    I solder my power wire on, plug into thermostat, plug thermostat into wall outlet and the set temperature.

    I use a router to cut a slight rescess into the shelf. Then route the tape in one long piece across the shelf up one side then across the next shelf. Secure with tin foil tape. Solder the connections and plug into a thermostat.
