It's been covered a million times but I need help

So I have:
- herpstat 2 redline thermostat
- rack system 41 qt tubs 7 high
- an expensive heat gun and back up one

Be easy people. So I have everything set up prefect. I have the probe under the heat tape. Even though the thermostat reads 91. I understand that the tub inside will not have all the heat get threw so it will read less. But everytime I check the Temps are different too low then to high

Is it bad if it reads 89 degrees when the python is off the heat tape but if she's on it and I move her to check the tempeture it's much higher obviously because the heat washeld from her laying on it.
I'm worried about killing the sperm from the male in her from the temp being high. I'm lost

Is the probe covered with tape ? if so uncover the probe tape it so that the probe is exposed

So tape the cord and leave the probe under the heat tape but don't cover the probe with literal tape

Yep exactly tape the cord so that the probe is in contact with the heat tape but isn't covered by whatever kinda tape your using to tape it

What is am ideal tempeture for a female who has ovulated. I have it set to 89. Well that kill the sperm so the eggs get infertile?

There's no reason to change the hot spot temperature from the normal set point just because the female has ovulated. Keep it set at the normal temp (89 is fine) and enjoy the wait until eggs!

Edit: Because I like to provide entirely too much info, here is a bit more for you. Female BPs have specially made storage areas that can keep sperm viable for several years without actually producing a clutch themselves. With that in mind, there's very little you can do that would impact the viability of the male's sperm without seriously impacting the health of the female first.

That's what I'm talking about. This kind of info is exactly what I'm looking for. So many would say the obvious. ... 89 day 80 night. I'm wanting to understand why I put the Temps at the Temps we do. Thank you.
