Question about Gaboon's
Just to clarify I don't plan on owning any hots anytime soon, if ever. This question is mainly out of curiosity/fascination over this beautiful species.
Now, with that out of the way. I was watching this video on YouTube and this guy was claiming that Gaboon's can actually "jump" or launch themselves a few feet in the air... Is this true? I tried a google search with no luck.
Here's the video I'm talking about. Takes place at about the 3:00 mark. Sorry if this isn't in the right section, mods feel free to move it as you see fit.

Re: Question about Gaboon's
Thanks for the vid. I didn't know they could do that if they really can didn't actually see it in video. At 4:46 when he says good grief that pretty much sums up this video for me lol. Watching it thrash and get excited over the dog made me feal its not the best idea to bring dogs and crying babies to a venomous snake show lol.

Good grief is right lol. I'm not going to doubt the handlers knowledge or experience but there were quite a few things wrong with the whole thing from my very little knowledge of venomous snakes.

Wow the was a big gaboon, they are one amazing snake. Ive seen the jump before at a zoo demo once, its really odd seeing such a heavy bodied snake launch its self threw the air like that

Re: Question about Gaboon's
Thanks for sharing that! If nothing else, it was entertaining. I think the handler could've used a wider bin for that animal.
Stay in peace and not pieces.

they are heavy bodied snakes but also among one of the fastest/hardest hitting snakes i've ever dealt with. I've never seen one "jump" but I could see it with as fast and hard as they hit.
