HELP! Power just went out
I'm freaking out. We just lost power and we do not have a generator. I would pack him in the box and bag he was shipped in and wrap that in a blanket, but I do not want to touch him because he just had a snack last night. But if he is cold then I assume he cannot digest properly. Please give any advice you can.

Cover his cage with blankets to keep the heat that is in there warm - or tuck him into a pillow cover and inside your clothing, where your body heat can keep him warm.

Will it hurt him to move him to a pillow case if he just recently ate though? The cage is glass with foil over the screen so I don't know if it will hold the heat in well at all.

Me personally I think he will be fine to get him out and give him some body heat.

Ok. I'm not going to have a choice, I covered him but the temp is dropping as we speak. Looks like an all nighter for me.

I agree with sticking in a pillow case in your shirt. I'd just try to sleep on my back with him on your chest or stomach and it shouldn't bother his meal if he's not being moved around much. Good luck!

For future reference, I have a 28 qt Colmen cooler. 8 decent quality pillow cases. And well over 16 shipping heat packs on hand. At present I have six male ball pythons, I live in Chicago. On the rare occasions we lose power, everyone gets bagged and moved into the cooler. I add a couple heat packs and some crumbled news paper. And usally have no problem waiting the couple hours for the power to be turned back on. I also recommend drilling a few very tiny holes in the cooler for them to breathe.

When our power went out, we put him in a pillowcase, and then on my dads chest. He didn't want to leave when the power returned...

Thank you all so much! I put him in the pillow case and put him on my stomach under some loose blankets. He kept trying to get away though, poking around the pillow case looking for a way out. Now he's back in his enclosure and all temps are back to where they should be, power is back. Phew.

I'll also look into getting my hands on some of these things for the future.
