I'm pretty sure I've seen quite a few pictures from members with a Vivarium Electronics thermostat in use, but it could be a different brand.

From what I have read so far they seem pretty good, that's why I wanted to see with the members here if they had any personal experience. Found someone selling that and 3 AP 41QT tube with heat for $175 so thought that wasn't to shabby lol. Just wanted to make sure it was good lol

They're on/off, not proportional, happy with ours.

I have several VE 100s that I use as back-ups for Herpstats. Excellent t-stats!

I much prefer the VE-200 because it's proportional, but the VE-100 is a great piece of gear

That seems to be the main gripe for VEs: on/off style and they don't have the same fail safe as the Herpstat that turns the unit off in case of malfunction. Other than that they tend to be pretty solid and reliable units.

You should be more specific....... Only the HobbyStat and the VE100. All the rest are optional.

I had a VE 200 fail in the on position. Rack was temp gunned 190F, and I lost 7 animals.

We ONLY use Herpstats for our collection.
