How to securely close a sterilite tub?
Hello all! I am planning on transferring my ball python over from a glass tank to a 110 quart sterilite tub, which I think overall will be a good change for her. My one concern is being able to keep the lip to the tub securely closed...it does have locking handles, but that only keeps two sides closed. The other sides seem very loose and I am concerned about my snake Olive slipping out! I was thinking of clipping the sides closed with binder clips but am unsure of how well it'll work. Anyone have any advice or experience with this? Thanks so much!

Use those big metal blk clips tht are used for papers... Thats what I have always used. Walmart has thm. Sometimes pharmacies lk walgreens or cvs had thm.

I used use bungee cords. I tried using the black paper clips before but they would constantly fall off. I have heard of people drilling holes in the lid and tub itself and use twist ties or string.

I have two recommendations for you.
The first is luggage straps. Many people use these to secure their tubs.
The second is clamps. Go to Lowes or HomeDepot and look in the hand tool area. I have and have used small clamps I bought from there that were $2 each. They are really strong but easy to use. I used them to secure the lid of a tub holding my adult Blood while I waited for her pvc cage. It ended up taking much longer than expected so I used the tub and clips for a few months with no issues.

Or a bolt and wing nut. While very secure it is not exactly quick to get in and out of.

I resorted to using a couple tie down straps for a while because I already have a bunch of them.
Anything you can wrap around it will work.

I would use a luggage strap or nylon tie-down (look in the store's camping section) over a bungee cord as bungees stretch.

I have that tub too! I don't secure it as it's fairly tight for me and my snake is pretty young, but binder clips don't slip for me. So if you have those [and nothing else] you can use them.
I'm a pet owner with a super pastel female BP who is very much loved!

If the binder clips don't fit, and you can't find luggage straps, look for sew-on velcro strips in the craft area of WallMart. They come in packages of maybe 4 or 6 foot strips. You don't need to sew them together, just stick the ends together (hard to explain, but obvious when you are doing it. ) I like to trim so there isn't excess dangle to catch on everything - PITA!
This is not ideal, but it works. I had to resort to the velcro after it became clear that the two-pack (expensive!) Zoo-med metal clips were not sufficient to keep the ten gallon glass tank screens secure. (grrr...)
