Glad he's finally putting on some weight...
When I see super slow growers, I'm always reminded of this one garter breeder who had a baby that never grew. It lived about half the expected lifespan and ate regularly, just never grew beyond what a baby of a couple months would have been.

The growth in weight might not seem like much right now but just by looking at his before and after pics he looks much rounder and healthier compared to the spinal protrusion he had before. Keep up the good work

50g to 78g is over a 50% increase. That's fine.
His growth rate will slow as he gains size.
You're not looking to blow up him like a balloon to make up for lost time, you just want to feed him consistently and have him steadily add weight.
It is okay to use pine bedding for snakes.
It is okay to feed live food to snakes.

I pick up mine Saturday! Coming to me at 12inches, 143g! I thought that was abnormally small for a 3month old! but hey ho! Awesome Job.

Alternate suggestion to tanks and tubs if you have/at some point get the dosh for it: look into PVC enclosures like they have at Animal Plastics. Those have the easier time with retained heat/humidity like tubs, but are glass or plexiglass fronted so you can have a nice aesthetic view of your terrarium like tanks. best of both world right there. Only down size is that they can be bit on the pricey side, so you might have to save up a little bit first.
