80watt reptile basics RHP will do the trick if you aren't dividing the cage. Or email Pro Products and they'll tell you what size to get. I believe mine are 65 watts. They'll ask what the high and low temps are in the room, animals being kept, cage size, etc. Also Animal Plastics will install the panels free of charge and cut a channel to have the power cord to exit the cage, very nice looking hides all your wires. And Herpstat all the way. Herpstat 2 would cover your needs or Herpstat 4 if you think you might want to expand later

No need for flexwatt with rhp, you can use it for backup though. The rhp will heat both sides of cage, put the rhp on hot side and set thermostat until it is 90 and the heat will radiat over to the cool side making it around 80.

Ok that's sounds good wish I would of ask these questions before I bought it lol but I'll keep the flex watt for back up or for my rack when I can acually get time to build it.... I looked into the herpstat and they are not cheap I was thinking about just getting the herpstat 2 but if I can't save up the money between now and when the cage arrives is their a cheaper route I could go (with no harm) just untill I can save up the money for the herpstat?

Yes there's cheaper options, inkbird itc-308 is one. A Herpstat would be better though, they have built in safety and dim the heating device instead of on/off like the cheaper ones. Before you order a cheaper one check our fauna classifieds and Craigslist, you may find Herpstats or VE thermostats used. When you check Craigslist look at multiple states and cities, many people are willing to ship.

In regards to rhp size an 80w from reptile basics is usually good. What is the average room temp and the coldest it gets?

VE-200 is a good choice, I have a few of them and some ve-300 and I love them all. You can't go wrong with ve or Herpstat IMO. There is 2 models of the 200, the ve-200 and ve-200d they are both proportional so will maintain steady temp. The ve-200 is pulse proportional and can be used with any non light emitting heat source so rhp, flexwatt, uth, che are all ok to use with it. The ve-200d is dimming proportional and can be use with light emitting and non light emitting heat sources. If you think you will use a light as s heat source at some point or just in case you do get the 200d if not the 200.

I've compared the ve-200, ve-200d, and ve-300 to the Herpstat and they are just as accurate. VE and Herpstat are both good choices and will keep your temp you set within a couple of tenths of a degree, sometimes you will see it go 1 degree higher or lower but not often.
