    Question Humidity problems: Please help!

So, I recently purchased a ball python, he's a great eater (even though I've only fed him once he took it within three minutes and I've heard it can be a struggle with some). My heat is fine, although the cold side is low he normally just spends time in his tree or in his stone hide/waterbowl (they are the same piece of fake stone). My real problem is humidity, at first it was somewhere around 60, so I tried to lower it (by taking out some of the cypress mulch I have around the place). Now it's at 40! I am using a non electronic gauge and he never goes in his water bowl which suggests he's fine but I'm still skeptical and really wanna get this right! Please tell me if you have any ideas.

If your curious he's a baby citrus pastel desert

Post a couple of photos of your enclosure.

Where are the temperature and hygrometer located? If they're the circle analog ones, they're probably way off. Get a digital thermometer/hygrometer. Something like this is $10 bucks:

How are you heating your enclosure? How cool is your cold side?

    Re: Humidity problems: Please help!

Well, my hot side is 88 and my cold side is 67... I don't know why it's such a large gap. I can't figure out how to put a picture without logging in on my phone so I'll go do that. Yes it's one of the circle analog and like I said he never goes in his water bowl so I think it's fine but just trying to make sure he's comfy
