How old is she? I have a 1800g female who isn't even 2 years old yet. Even though she is big, she doesn't "look" even close to my 3 year old 1900g female... Age isn't just a number in this case.
My female is about 800g but if she reaches 1500 around feb/March could I breed her?
I'd wait until next year (if you breed going by season). One, because I'd be wary of overfeeding her (bad for their livers and higher risk of her going off feed), and two, because rumor has it that older, larger females lay larger, healthier clutches more consistently.
This ^^^^^^^^^ Preferably, I would wait until the female is at least 2 years old and 1500 gms.The consensus is the females third winter and 1500 gms as a place to start.
Ok I belive she's going on about 2 years and is 795g
She's not even close to being breeding size. I'd be shocked if you were able to get a 795 gram 2 year old to basically double in size in 3 months in a healthy way. I'd focus on getting her to eat appropriately sized meals consistently and hope that she is up to size for next fall/winter. Even that may be tough.
