    Ambient Temps???

Hey guys, in the winter my house stays around 75 during the day and 70 at night but my room has bad insulation and it is about 5 degrees colder than rest of the house. Can my BPs and my corn snake handle 65-62 ambient temps? Their hot spots are still 92-89 but I was just wondering if they could handle that. If not what is a way I can bring the ambient temps up?

I also realize that is probably why they are both my BPs haven't eaten in 2 months. It could also be they smell each other because it is breeding season and they are both about breeding size. From what I have read fasts this time of year are common so I am trying not to worry about it.

    Thanks!

No, that's too cold. That could certainly be why they haven't been eating - they can't digest properly at those temperatures. Ambients should be close to 80F, and no lower than 75 for ball pythons. I believe corn snakes can handle slightly cooler temperatures, but I'd still try to keep them above 70.

Ok thanks. Is there any tips you can give me to bring the temps up?

Got a space heater you can use in your room?

No but I can certainly go buy one if you think that would help. I live in San Diego so normally I don't have this problem but it has been really cold here lately.

It would certainly help. You want to raise the temp in the room. They are designed to raise the temp in the room. Sounds like a good, relatively inexpensive solution to me!
