    How common?

How common you notice tail suck with your breeder females, while they still in follicle growth phase?

(Sorry for the quality.. The photo was taken with IPad with one hand)

    No one with that experience?

I'm a newbie breeder, and until now I've seen that during the ovulation, after big defecation or after several skipped meals. With that girl I'm surprised. She's virgin, 3 years old around 1750g. She was always in the "chunky" side with her short body and good girth, and with the building she became even more fat. She defecates with regular base weekly or biweekly, but she didn't go before I take that photo. I felt 6 maybe 7 big marble sized follicles at the past week. She never skipped a meal, except when she's in shed. Still copulating and active tail wagging when I put the male with her.

Tail suck is seen when the animal ovulates so no I have never experienced it when females are building.

Thank you for your answer Deborah. I've heard rumors about tail suck during the building, and as seen in the photo, I think that's the case. I'm sure that girl far from ovulation.

This photo was taken a few months before ovulation while building I as well confused it for a tail suck.

Thank you, perfect Did you palpating or ultrasounding her around that time? She wasn't after a huge defecation?

She hadn't defecated recently at that point.
