Atomic Regurge, the Worst Ever!!

There I was 4 days ago walking down the hall and smelled Poo. I checked the enclosures in the snake room and the two temporary quarentine rooms, nothing.

Next day, I just knew that they was poo somewhere, so I checked again. Nothing, so I checked every corner of every room to see where the dogs messed, nothing.

Next day, just a repeat of the day before. I was sooo perplexed! I even stuck my head inside the enclosures and saw nothing. My olfactory was already damaged.

Yesterday, it was so strong I was going crazy besides gagging. Then I saw it. Lizzy, my oldest and largest Coastal Carpet, who has been in her water bowl for 2 weeks, shifted just enough that I could that I could see that she messed not only in her bowl, but while she was in it!

She is in the blue in a major way, so I wasn't sure how she would react to being carried out in her bowl.
Tranporting her to the bathroom and getting her in the tub was no problem other than heaving and gagging the whole time. After Lizzy got out of the bowl I saw it, a minimum FOUR DAY OLD jumbo rat regurge. Sorry guys I had no time to take pics during this state of emergency!

I walked that nasty bowl with the regurge through the house and took it up the street to dump it in a pasture. I was gagging and heaving the whole way. Let me point out that I have fully raised two kids into adulthood and I have owned scores of animals in my life; I have worked in the medical field for 20 years, even attending surgeries, so I don't gag easy. But I have NEVER smelled anything close to that before!

After washing Lizzy, I threw that towel away and used a gallon of bleach on the bowl an the tub after putting Lizzy up.

Then most of house reeked of regurge. Fabreeze was no match. It was cold and rainy out, but I opened doors and windows regardless. After a few hours of freezing, I closed everything up.

I wasn't sure if I had smell memory burn or if the house had odor that wouldn't go away, just like in the Seinfeld episode of the Parking valet permanently smelling his car up.




Boy did I learn a lesson the hard way. I would not wish this experience on an enemy.

BURN DOWN THE HOUSE is is a living entity by now and will haunt you until it is destroyed and the only way to do so is fire lots and lots of fire

Oh man, I about busted my gut laughing!!

As I mentioned before, I threw the towel away. I did NOT want that nasty thing in my washing machine!

Surprisingly, all is good now. Or my olfactory is roasted.

I feel like I had a Blonde Week rather than a moment. But Lizzy was curled on top of that regurge. I just could not see it!

my best guess is you fried your sniffer but just to test it bring a friend over and dont tell them why see if they run screaming

That sounds horrible! It's bad enough dealing with what my female kingsnake produces every couple months or so - and she's predictable enough that I know to expect it! At least with just little pinky mouse regurge, I can flush it down the toilet... Though she did dump one under her bedding once, and I didn't find it right away. That was pretty rancid.
