Thermo/hydro mounting question

So I got my first ball last week at a reptile show(juvi male fire) and I had his tank setup exactly the glass tank sticky thread above. I also have the same exact thermometer in that thread as well but can't figure out a stable way of mounting it so he doesn't knock it over which he has done repeatedly and I feel bad because I keep having to open his tank up to flip it over so I can see it. I tried just setting it in the corner and also using a suction cup but it wasn't strong enough, he kinda likes to rest part of his body on it for some odd reason as he peeks out of his cool side hide and then likes to hang on it. I don't wanna use tape cause that's just a bad idea and I thought about Velcro but idk if that's a good idea either. So I was hoping someone here could throw me some ideas as I don't wanna keep intruding on him to fix it. Although it doesn't seem to bother him a whole lot and he's already fed for me once but I'd rather not have to worry about stressing him out. My other solution was just to pull it out and leave the probe in there as the temps have been very stable with my thermostat regulating the uth but I don't wanna rely on my analog thermometer alone for the ambient air temperature. Thanks in advance for any help!

You can always hot glue it but i'm not sure how permanent you want it to be. Either that or like you said, velcro would work well also.

I'm not sure if the model you have has a long cord with the probe on the end, but what I did is this:
I have 4 digital thermometers, 1 wireless thermometer, and 2 digital hygrometers. One thermometer is on the substrate with the thermostat probe (thermostat regulates a CHE) so I keep it from getting too hot, the 2nd is in the hot hide, the 3rd thermometer is situated half way between his heat sources and about 6 inches above the substrate to monitor ambient temp, the 4th is in his cool hide. The wireless is also half way between the heat sources, but at substrate level to monitor ambient too. Then one hygrometer on either side of the tank.

The probes are in the tank with the wires either suction cupped in place, or under the substrate with the probes sticking out. The digital part is outside the tank, taped to the wall and labeled as to which is sensing what...

This is probably overkill (most definitely overkill), but I like to know what his entire gradient is. Also, he is in a 40 gal tank, so I have a lot of space to monitor

Got some Velcro strips this morning and they seem to be working so far.
