Petsmart said "butter". What say you?

I also posted this in my Introduction thread, but then realized there was a subforum just for identification.

Lesser/Butter... Did you buy it as that from PetSmart?

Yes. This snake had been at PetSmart for over a year. I admired her every time I came in to buy mice for my milk snake. She seemed healthy, friendly, and alert. Just not growing. I inspected her feeding logs and they weren't giving her anything more than a single medium mouse per week. So I waited for her price to drop again and then I bought her in September. What you see here represents a little bit of growth from when I bought her then (she went largely off-feed until relatively recently). They had her labeled as a "Butter Ball Python".

I don't yet have the means by which to weigh her. As far as scale goes, that enclosure is a 20 gallon high aquarium, so the full front face is 24 inches in length.

I recommend having two hides set up for her, one on the warm side, one for the cool side, so they can choose their desired temperature without giving up their privacy. She's a gorgeous girl. If you want to increase the size of her food, try switching her to rats if you already haven't. I'm not sure what they sizes are in your area but I'd probably give her a weaned rat if she would take it.

Yeah, I've been trying to get her onto rats. No luck yet. She'll still take large mice. No food for a little bit, though, as she's got a shed coming.

Yes, I expect to be adding another hide to her enclosure (as well as the other guy I picked up on Saturday).
