Do snakes mark their territory?
My Cali King is notorious for poo'in within an hour of cleaning his "condo", each and every single time. The moment I put him back his goes into full Q&A mode (Quality & Analysis) and "sniffs" every square inch of his home, including his accessories. Once satisfied with the clean décor, he then he poo's. Maybe he thinks he's a cat?!

For a snake, he is very consistent with his gratitude.

I'm sorry...
Mine do the same sometimes, but not within the hour. Within 3 hours, sure. The next morning, I find one of them trashed their tank, after I spent 30 minutes thoroughly cleaning it the night before... and I cry to the heavens LOL.

Depends on the snake. My BRB's for the most part are very neat little critters - they leave piles in the corners. Usually the back corners where it's hardest to clean out, but at least the only poop every 10-14 days.
My retics go... and go... and go. A clean enclosure must be a signal to go, even if it's just a tiny urate.
