    What's your average clutch size?

I'm just wondering what everybody's clutches are totaling. I mean what is your average clutch size? Do females tend to produce larger clutches as they get older?

Is their first clutch usually small? I've noticed a lot of first clutches posted on here that only have a few eggs.

Re: What's your average clutch size?

My one female had six eggs in her first clutch (one went bad), though she was five years old and I think around 1800g if I remember correctly. My other female (of an unknown age) was already proven, around 2000g, and laid seven eggs. The monster clutches I've seen online usually come from 3000g females.

It really seems to depend on the size of the female. Most females I've bred under 2,000 grams (before breeding) usually end up laying 5-8 eggs. My larger girls, 3,500+ grams, lay 10+ egg clutches; with the biggest being 15 eggs.

Averaging 7.2 eggs per clutch. I have 3500g females laying 13 eggs and some 3200g females laying 6 eggs. One 2200g Clown gave me 9 eggs. It seems to be totally random.

My very first clutch 6 years ago was 12 eggs. Over the years I'd say probably in the 8-9 egg average. I have a few girls that give 10-12 eggs and most are around 7-9. smallest ever was 3 eggs from a first time girl who has since given 7 eggs her last breeding. I do things a little different though. I wait until 1800 gram minimum before breeding my girls.
