Hatching Tub Security
I'm about to get a new hatchling-- a female pied het albino .
Anyways, I have a 7qt sterlite tub that I'm going to use for her when she gets here, its all set up now.
The tub locks on the ends (link to it), do I need some sort of strap to keep lid down on top of those latches? I used to have a luggage strap I used for a 28qt, but I can't seem to find it. I think the latches might be sufficient on such a small tub with a little hatchling though, but I also don't want to risk an escape. Thoughts?

Latches do not always work some snakes will find a way to push the lid in the middle of the tub which doesn't always mean they will escape but they might injure themselves trying.
Simple binder clips 1 on each side (in the middle) will do.

Okay, thanks for the idea. I ended up at Wal-Mart the other day with my wife, so I just got another luggage strap. I think it is a bit easier than binder clips to use. All set now! Temps and humidity look good too.

That's the plan! My "female" pied turned out to be a male (sold as a male, resexed as female the day of shipping--I need to learn to sex my bp's!), so this purchase will fix that problem . I have another 1.5 years before I can even consider breeding (navy), so this is a good time to get a hatchling for that.

Good luck on the pieds!
May I add another related question to this thread?
For two hatchling KIngs, I chose two "Hefty" brand 15qt tubs with latch locks on the ends mainly because these seemed to have the stiffest construction.
The Sterilite tubs seemed very flimsy, and were mostly cracked already anyway.
The Heftys, however were only avail with a solid black cover, and a smokey tinted tub base. I can see the animals through the plastic, and the tubs are getting light from all sides for now. Is enough light getting through to them?
Thanks.

They like holes in the ground, so having diffused light won't hurt them at all. You just don't want solid black tubs unless you are going to do some kind of lighting inside the tank as they will think it's permanently night, and that can screw with anything living.
