Under tank Heaters opinions on "Brand"

Opinions on Under tank heaters? We are changing our snakes tank. We originally had a Exo-terra heat mat

    http://www.amazon.com/Exo-Terra-Heat...er+tank+heater

and as you all know this type that is adhesive is not easy (or impossible) to move to a new tank. So now looking at the Reptile Basics & tape concept for attaching it to the underside of the tank.

I have a "fire phobia" so always looking for the safest bet. We do have a thermostat we connect it to as well.

    Any opinions would be appreciated.

Best brand out there is Ultratherm, those are sturdy and can be moved over and over again great for tanks and stand alone tubs.

I'm very happy with my ultratherm as well. But reptile basics will also assemble a piece of heat tape for you I believe they only charge $0.99 to do the labor part. I think if I was buying one from reptile basics, I would also buy the other kind and experiment. They're both relatively cheap and if you're paying shipping it's almost no difference.

I also have a fire phobia. Its crazy because 20 years ago when I was younger, I was using a heat rock with no thermostat. It's kind of funny but my favorite piece of husbandry equipment is my intro + from Spyder robotics.

Ultratherm has superior performance for a relatively low wattage heating device. Safety is top notch as well.
