1st blood python

Hey peeps...I have a question,I want to buy my 1st blood python so I just wanted yo know what the best age to get it at is?Hatchling? Yearling? Or full grown??

That really depends on you. If you do not want to put the work in calming a young one down if it is nippy then you may want to get a sub or full adult to start with.

If you have not held an adult you may want to at least give that a try before you jump into them. They are very impressive and can be a hand full so be sure you know what you are getting in to.

Well, I get mine on hatching years and I had so much trouble, it was so active, while he was a baby, all the time tried to escape, basically was really active, and now, when he is grown he is more calm, so If I knew, I would buy it on full grown, but as it was already said, i depends on you, how much trouble you want to have

I got mine as hatchlings, and I have enjoyed seeing them grow. They can be nippy as hatchlings, but calm down with regular handling. I would also suggest handling an adult blood to see if it is something you want to start out with, or something that you want to grow into. They can be a bit of a handful when they are adults, for they don't understand being held by big moving trees (us). They don't know how to hang on like other snakes do, so are very awkward when being held.
