    Growth spurt!!

Louie is eating like crazy ever since he's healed up from his RI! I couldn't be happier tho honestly I love a great eater with enthusiasm! Before I'd offer him food every five days but he'd decline the offer and eat every seven days which was fine with me I figured as long as he had the opportunity to say yes or no either ways he can take care of himself! And now he's acting hungry every three to four days after eating! Like poking his nose out of his house, raised up like he's waiting in ambush or he makes the "S" shape with his neck like he's ready to strike a passing by prey. I'm the keeper who puts him in a different bin to feed him and usually he just sits in it and waits for the food to come to him patiently and now he practically leaps out of the box on the trail of that rat!! But he has no signs of aggression towards me or my bf or anything he handles great and is very tame with us and has never bitten anyone. He was gulping down 13-17 gram rat fuzzies and now he's onto 21-28 gram rat crawlers! This is all just good news and progression, my only question would be should I keep offering him food even if he just ate two days ago or wait for that fourth/fifth day? I don't want him to regurge (ew!) He's about six months now and gaining weight. Last week at the vet he weighed in at 144 grams and he's eaten twice since then. I haven't weighed him yet but after the weekend I'll put him on the scale. That's all! Yay!!! Snek babies growing big n strong eating rats!! xx

It'd probably be safer if you waited for the fifth day since some recommend waiting two days before even handling to make sure they digest properly. Orochimaru will also display hunting behavior even if he just ate two or three days ago. I read that they will eat even when not hungry because in the wild they are opportunistic feeders. Basically if they see food they're going to eat it since they're not sure when they will get another meal. I don't think there's any need to feed less than five days apart though. I think he would end up not being able to constructively process the nutrients and just pass most of it. Hope an expert chimes in for you and corrects me if I'm wrong.
