Best place to get supplies?
I use Aspen and cleaner on a regular basis. Feeders are quite easy to get, but other supplies...not so much. I really like shredded aspen, not chips. Anyone have a favorite place to order from?
Also, what type of cleaners can I use? I heard water & bleach is the easiest...right now I use Nature's Chemistry Healthy Habitat. Are household cleaners like clorox safe? I know Lysol isn't. (And no I have not used anything I'm not sure of )
If you wanna step inside, pay admission at the door...

I get aspen here http://www.petfooddirect.com/product...cel&trigger=ac
Chlorhexidine here http://www.amazon.com/Chlorhexidine-...=chlorhexidine - That's for daily/weekly cleaning (works for tubs, water dish, surfaces and snakes if they need to be wiped down), once a year or when animals are sold or upgraded the tubs get bleached out completely.

don't know about aspen, I'm a newspaper guy. I use hydrogen peroxide as a cleaner/disinfectant and have used it exclusively for 23 years of python keeping. $0.88 per quart at the local wal-mart.

omg Deb, A++ for that aspen. The best I could find online was the Zoomed stuff for $15 for the 24 qt bag, and that wasn't including shipping. Ended up just buying locally because my feed supply store sold it for $17.98 which beat the shipping price.

Re: Best place to get supplies?
I'm not sure if there are any reptile expos near you but if one rolls through your town get aspen there. I always rack up on big bags of aspen bedding and usually don't need anymore for months and months and months. So I'd go on the repticon website and see if there is an expo coming near you

Re: Best place to get supplies?
I usually buy screened aspen bedding in large quantities from feed stores. Or even a small bag from Walmart if I'm pressed for time, then I can get a bigger bag later. Feed store bedding is significantly cheaper because people usually buy large quantities for livestock.
