Stressed/weird ball
Hi all, so I have got a new ball (female lemon blast about 1 year old).
I am worried she is stressed as she is out and about slithering all over the cage most of the time. She has 2 hides and the temps/humidity are good.
When I disturbed the cage ( as I needed to move the thermostat) she shot out of her cave and went a bit mental, almost like she was running away and panicking.
She has been home now for just over a week and I fed her the day we got her (my other python refused so thought I'll give it a go) and she snapped it up. She refused a week later.
Now as I said she has 2 hides but only occasionally uses them (mainly in the mornings) and never uses them as cover when she is startled, in fact she comes out when startled (as mentioned above)
Her cage/viv is about 50cm long, 15cm high and 20 cm deep, she herself is about 2 ft long
Also the other python is absolutely fine (been with me for a year now) and never displayed this behaviour.
Is it just a case of letting her settle in?

I would give her more time. Also did her prior owner keep her in a tank or a tub? If she's used to a tub she's probably freaked about all the open space around her.

Here is a pic of her, she was in a tub and now a tank so a slight increase in size but she has 2 hides to use

Try putting some fake plants in there to clutter it up if she's not feeling comfortable enough to use her hides.
