Rat bit my snake on the head during feeding

    Hello!
So this feeding the snake didn't get such a good hold of the rat and the rat bit the snakes head eventually the snake killed and ate the rat but it had to get the teeth of the rat out of it's head. Should I be worried and is there anything I can do to insure its safety. There is now a white scar on its head.

As long as the snake isn't showing neurological issues, that scar will diminish with each shed. If it's an open wound, keep it on dry paper towel and keep it clean until it heals up.

You can swab the wound up to twice a day with either Chlorhexidine (brand name Hibiclens) or Betadine to help prevent infection.

It will be fine. A little betadine will go a long way. It's available in any pharmacy and shouldn't be expensive.

Re: Rat bit my snake on the head during feeding

Try to make sure that the bite doesn't involve the eye or nose of the bp. These structures and the mouth of the snake are very close together and a injury can easily be missed.
Stay in peace and not pieces.
