Well, my mom and I decided to get my brother a snake for Christmas(We would help him take care of it,of course),and he wanted a kingsnake, but I don't think he is ready for a snake that musks and wiggles around to much. So,we thought he might like a rat snake, and I wanted to know, how do you drill holes in the rubbermaid? Can't the snake get out easily? Can I use a herp haven or kritter keeper or something like that?

I'd recommend going to Radio Shack & getting a small soldering iron. Use this to melt holes in the box - it's easier than drilling & you don't run the risk of splitting the plastic if you drill @ the wrong angle. Just make sure you do your melting in a well-ventilated area, and not around any pet birds if you have them.

They are next to impossible to keep a good level of humidity and heat. It would probably be easier, in my opinion, to go with a good sized rubbermaid and modify it to fit your needs.

Compadres, it is imperative that we crush the freedom fighters before the start of the rainy season. And remember, a shiny new donkey for whomever brings me the head of Colonel Montoya.

Yes, i would clean the tank completely. Make sure you have a good, secure lid. Kingsnakes can fit into much smaller spaces and therefore escape out of things a bp might not be able to.

I just drilled holes in my new Iris container with a drill and a small size wood bit. I think it was for wood... Soldering irons are good too, and multipurpose I just made sure the drill was up to a good speed, then made a hole, otherwise, if it's not going fast enough and you push too hard, it will make small cracks around the holes. A soldering iron would probably be better but we don't have one so I just made do.
