    A friendly Minnesotan hello!!! :)

    Hello!

Ever since I was a young boy I have been fascinated by snakes. I would go out in the woods/fields by our house and catch all sorts of garter snakes (which is all we really had by our house.) I started reading up on ball pythons about a month ago and doing my homework. I didn't want to buy one from petsmart or any petshop because they tend to be overpriced. I was fortunate enough to finda good breeder and pick up my first ball python, which is a black pastel, and he is beautiful!

I got him about a week and a half ago and ever since I have been glued to this website! I also spend my free time watching YouTube videos of breeders collections and play around with genetics wizards I am hands down addicted... I'm hooked for life! These are such beautiful creatures plus everyone on these forums are so nice and have so much knowledge and experience!

Greeting from another Minnesota person. If u are close to st.Paul go to twin city's reptiles. They are one of the best reptile stores I have been to.

Yes! I've been there it's excellent! I live just north of the cities, there's another really great reptile pet shop near me called oddball pet factory, it's in spring Lake park of highway 65, it has a smaller selection than twin cities reptiles but it's worth a look if you're ever in the area!

I would really like to! Maybe in a couple years! The only reason I would be hesitant would be because there are so many breeders out there and so many ball pythons without homes but it would be a truly amazing thing to cut your first hatchling eggs and see the results

If you've never been to a meeting of the MN herp society, you might want to check it out. We usually have a large number of ball pythons available for adoption. Some are in rough shape and need a bit of TLC but most of them are actually in pretty good shape. Welcome to the forums.
