    important question need help

i know there is a lot of speculation on this, but i want this topic to be open to discussion. In your guys' experience, is it better to feed the ball python in its enclosure, or have a separate "feeding tub"?

    Re: important question need help

There have been a TON of discussions on this topic, if you are willing to search for it for about 2 seconds.

Spoiler alert: You will find that there aren't many (any?) benefits to the snake to feed in a separate enclosure. There are several potential negatives to doing so, however.

Most will recommend feeding in their own enclosure to make it easier on both you and the snake. Forget about all of the old wives tales that say otherwise.

The only benefit I ever found initially was that I could clean the tub/tank while they were out eating. Now that I have several racks and have a surplus of Vision tubs (plus I also use paper and not aspen anymore) it's so much easier to feed them right in the tub, and I've not noticed any change in behavior and the exception is feeding is now easier.
    Cheers, Jeff

People who feed in a separate tub: new keepers with one snake who bought into the big box store lie (because the big box store folks want to sell more stuff)

People who feed in the enclosure: keepers who have large snakes, keepers who have large collections, and keepers who have venomous snakes.
