Thermostat regulating your UTH? I set mine at 90. UTH doesn't really affect ambient temperature at all.

80 ish maybe 82 is ideal for ambient. Do you have heat pads, and are they on a thermostat of their own?

Each setup can be a bit different. This can be from many different factors. You just need to dial it in for what you need.

Start low and let the uth warm up. After a couple hours check the hotspot and adjust the tstat. Only make small changes and then allow the uth to again heat up all the way before adjusting again. Take your time and do it right. Its easy, it just takes time.

    You mean probes?

They are usually placed on the hotspot inside the cage so you can track it.

After some time pick up a IR temp gun. They are invaluable in this hobby. All of my thermometers have died and instead of replacing them over and over I just use my temp gun now.

You can get them cheap on Amazon.
