Was this snake ever fed?
Okay, so I'm in the market for my next BP and searching around on Kijiji I found a cute female mojave. He claims she was born August 2014 but only weighs 145g. I have Snakes born in October who weight between 380g-560g... so this does not make sense to me. Does this sound right to you? It doesn't to me but I just want to make sure. He says she eats F/T but has not said how well... I'm a little concerned.

To me that sounds way to light and I would stay away from it. I have never heard of a BP that small at that age.

Yea, even my 2015 female leopard BP weighs 186g. The thing is, what if it is just being neglected? Could a BP be that small for its age if it is being neglected?

Before you judge too quickly, do you have any idea about it's hatch weight? How quickly did it begin feeding? How often/what has it been eating? Just because it's small doesn't mean it has been neglected.

Get pics and find out what it has been eating. Maybe a stubborn eater, maybe he isn`t feeding correctly. Ask Ask Ask!

Agreed, I have a 2 yr old fire OG male that was an extremely stubborn starter. I think he only ate about 3-4 times in his first 6-8 months. Then he decided to become a regular eater and now is a pretty normal sized 2 yr old. Nonetheless, I'd try to find out more about the snake's background, admittedly he's quite small for that age.

That is the thing, I tried to get something out of him. He said she eats for him. That is all he said. I asked what and all he said was F/T. When I asked what size of prey all he said was (and his exact words) "mice, I think. The white ones from petsmart." I gave up at that point and stopped emailing him and am now looking at getting a very nice vanilla het red axanthic or super pastel. Would have liked the mojave but it felt like I was talking to a 3 year old... vanillas and pastels are just as awesome anyway.

^^ good! I think it is wise to pass on this one. "It eats something white from the pet store" is a pretty scary answer. Always buy from reputable breeders or someone you know well.

I am really okay buying form people I do not know or from people who are not breeders and just need to get rid of snakes. I have done it in the past and not once have I had an issue. I very well trained to know scammers. But this is different. I have ran into people who really do not know what they are talking about but this guy seriously is... i do not know a polite word for it. I almost feel bad for the snake.
