can an animal skull be used in my snake tank?

    Hello.
I am new here, and I am also new to ball pythons.
Maybe this sounds grusome to some, but, I'd like to know what others think before I decide what to do.
We have a deer skull which has been 'on a spike' on our property...it has been out in all weathers for years now and I am wondering if anything needs to be done to it before I can put it in my snake tank as decoration.

Has anyone here used a real skull?

I've used real skulls as desk decorations before but not for a snake tank lol. I think the main thing would be to make sure that there are no small openings around the eyes or nasal passages that the snake could get its head stuck in and to sand down any sharp edges. Probably also use greatfoam; you can buy it at WalMart and it's nontoxic and water resistant once it sets; to block/fill in the opening in the bottom of the skull since you probably wouldn't want your snake to try and hang out inside it.
